3 wood loft
The second-longest club in the bag and the hardest fairway wood to hit off the deck. Strong 3 woods (13° to 14.5°) are tee clubs for fast swingers; 3HL heads (16° to 16.5°) launch easier and are the better choice under about 95 mph of driver speed.
If your 3 wood and your driver go the same distance, the 3 wood is the one to replace. It has no hybrid or iron equivalent: nothing else in the bag sits at 15°.
In the StickPicker database: 98 of 110 current fairway woods offer a 3-wood loft. 15° is the most common setting (67 models); the stated range is 13° to 16.5°.
