About this club

The Apex UW is Callaway's utility wood, a club sized between a fairway and a hybrid that the 2024 version plays from a bonded hosel with a fixed sole weight. Lofts are 17, 19 and 21 degrees. The head is an all-steel casting behind a C300 maraging steel face cup, which keeps the sound and feel closer to a fairway than to a hybrid, and for a lot of better players that's the appeal off tight lies.

Mitsubishi's MMT is stock at 70 grams in regular and stiff, with an 80 gram X-stiff for the fastest swingers, and the grip is a Golf Pride Z-Grip. Left-handed heads come in 17 and 19 degrees. The newer Apex UW adds a 23 degree loft and a carbon crown; this one is the simpler steel-crown original, and the firmer strike that goes with steel.
