Callaway Quantum Max D Fairway Wood

Nothing else in the Quantum fairway line is this big. At 190cc the Max D puts thirty more cubic centimetres behind the ball than the standard Max, on a 455 Carpenter steel face in a multi-material head, with four lofts running 15, 16.5, 18 and 21.5 degrees.

The shaft list splits cleanly by weight, Project X's Denali Frost Silver in 60 and 70 against Mitsubishi's Vanquish in 40 and 50, and there is no X-stiff on the card. That last detail is the giveaway. This one is built for golfers whose fairway woods have historically gone left, or have not gone up, and it is set up to address both without asking for a swing change. The hosel tunes loft and lie; the weighting is fixed.
