TaylorMade SIM2 Max Rescue

Five heads is a lot of rescue, and the Max ladder spans 19 degrees to 31 in even 3 degree steps. That top end is deep enough to stand in for a 7 iron, which tells you the golfer this is built for: someone happy to hand over the whole long end of the bag. Like its sibling, the head is cast 450 stainless with C300 maraging steel across the face and no composite anywhere in it.

Stock shafts step down in weight as the lofts climb. The Ventus Blue 7 comes in stiff, the 6 in regular and the 5 in senior, so the higher-lofted heads arrive lighter and easier to swing. No loft sleeve here. The weighting is cast in too, which leaves loft and shaft as the only real choices. Left-handed builds cover the 19, 22 and 25 degree heads only, and golfers wanting something tighter and more iron-like belong on the standard rescue.
