TaylorMade SIM2 Max OS Irons

Everything here is a degree or so stronger than the standard Max, and that is the whole design brief. The 7 iron sits at 27 degrees, the 4 iron at 18, and eight clubs come as standard, starting at the 4 iron and finishing with a gap wedge. Construction repeats across the family: a cast stainless shell, hollow inside, capped in polymer at the rear, fronted by 450 stainless.

Super-game-improvement is the category, and those stronger lofts are the mechanism. KBS Max 85 MT steel and Ventus Blue graphite are the two stock shafts, regular and stiff in the steel, senior through stiff in graphite. Individual clubs stretch from the 4 iron out to a lob wedge. The lob wedge is right-handed only. A golfer who wants tighter gapping should compare the standard Max.
