TaylorMade SIM2 Max D Fairway Wood

Every loft in the Max D starts a notch weaker than its equivalent elsewhere in the family, and that's on purpose. The 3 wood is 16 degrees, the 5 is 19 and the 7 is 22, which puts the whole set higher in the air before the heel weighting has done anything. At 195cc the head is also the biggest fairway TaylorMade built in this generation. A forged C300 maraging steel face does the work at impact.

The heel weighting is permanent. The hosel is fixed too, so the club arrives set up to fight a slice and asks nothing of you afterwards. One stock shaft covers it, a Fujikura Air Speeder 45 in three weights of flex from senior to stiff. Left-handed players get the 16 and 19 degree heads. Anyone who already hits it straight should look at the plain Max instead, where the lofts run stronger and the ladder goes deeper.
