TaylorMade SIM Titanium Fairway Wood

Titanium fairway woods are rare, and rarity is rather the point of this one. A ZATECH titanium face is bonded to a 6-4 titanium chassis, carbon covers the crown, and an 80 gram V-shaped steel plate anchors the sole, holding the mass that a conventional steel body would carry in its walls. The result measures 180cc, the smallest head in the 2020 family and unmistakably aimed at stronger players.

Three builds exist: the Rocket 3 at 14 degrees, a regular 3 wood one degree weaker, and a 5 wood carrying 19, with the Rocket right-hand only. This is also the sole 2020 fairway here fitted with a loft sleeve, worth two degrees either way. Stock shafting is the Diamana FW Limited 75 across regular, stiff and X. Golfers wanting a larger shape and a steel face should turn to the Max instead.
