About this club

Smaller was the whole argument in 2017. Ping shrank the G400 to 445cc, less than the generation before it and less than everything since, on the reasoning that a tighter head cuts drag and swings faster. Asked why not carbon, Ping said plainly that titanium casts better and composite crowns save less weight than people assume. So the crown is cast Ti 8-1-1 and the face a forged T9S+.

The card is short, 9 and 10.5, with a turning hosel and a screw-in back weight a fitter swaps to tune swing weight. This is the plain model, the one with no superlative attached, and Ping thought so little of that name it renamed the equivalent head Plus the following generation. Both hands. Three shafts, none of them heavy.
