TaylorMade 2016 M2 Driver

Nothing on this sole moves. Where the M1 gives you a track and two sliding weights, the M2 fixes its mass low and back and asks you to accept the flight that produces, which is a taller, easier launch for a golfer who would sooner not fiddle with hardware. The multi-material head measures 460cc at every loft in the range.

Fitting is done at the hosel, on a four degree sleeve. Two numbered heads are printed. One is a 9.5, the other a 10.5. A separate high launch HL build sits above them for right-handers needing still more help off the tee. Shafts divide by flex. The Fujikura Pro 60 takes the two firmest, a lighter Pro 50 covers regular and the senior tier under it, and a Golf Pride Tour Velvet at 46 grams tops every build. The M1 is the one with a track, if that matters.
