About this club

The original Anser outline has been copied more often than any other putter shape and Ping still builds it. Slight toe hang behind a plumber's neck, a Pebax insert in a cast head, black nickel finish, three lengths, both hands.

Nothing about it is clever. A heel-toe weighted blade with a clean topline gives the eye a straight edge to aim over, and slight hang asks very little of the stroke either way. The Anser 2D adds a fourth length and a marginally different profile at the same hang, while the Anser 4 moves to strong. Golfers who already know they like an Anser should compare the three outlines rather than the specifications.
