About this club

Ping's HL builds solve a weight problem rather than a loft problem, and the G440 HL is the current one. It shares the standard G440's 29 degree 7-iron and adds a gap wedge for an eight club run from the 4-iron down. The head is multi-material with a 17-4 stainless face. Alta Quick at 35 or 45 grams is the only shaft, light flex only, under a Lamkin UTx Lite grip, and both hands are built.

Eight clubs in a game improvement set is generous and it matters more than it sounds. The gap wedge included here is loft matched to the set rather than bought separately, so the yardage below the pitching wedge doesn't fall into a hole. Golfers with enough speed for a heavier shaft should look at the standard G440. Everyone else should try this first.
