Ping G30 Fairway Wood

Whole-degree lofts date this club immediately. The G30 fairway comes in 14.5, 18 and 21 degrees, and Ping switched to half-degree cards only from the G400 onward, so a Ping fairway reading 18 or 21 is a G30 or older. Three heads, 3-wood through 7-wood, topping out at 167cc.

Carpenter 475 steel forms the face over a cast 17-4 stainless chassis, and the crown carries the same moulded turbulators as the matching driver. The hosel handles loft, and the sole weight is swappable. Both dexterities, on Ping's TFC 419F or a Tour profile. This was the only fairway wood in the family; the SF Tec and Stretch shapes did not reach the category until the generation after.
