About this club

TaylorMade puts the hosel in the model name across the whole Spider Tour range, so a golfer can read the geometry off the box without opening a spec sheet. This one is the counterbalanced build, on a double bend shaft, which leaves the high-MOI head balancing face up. A SuperStroke Tour 2.0 XL grip is what makes it counterbalanced, being longer and heavier than the standard Pistol.

Torched PVD is the finish across most of the range and it's a distinctive one, a dark heat-treated look rather than a flat black coat. Pure Roll sits in the face, a white TPU insert blending surlyn and aluminium. Counterbalancing is a specific fix. If your hands take over on short putts, moving mass above them helps, and if they don't, the build will just feel heavy and slow for no reason at all.
