TaylorMade 2017 M1 Irons

Between a distance iron and a traditional players iron is where TaylorMade aimed the M1, and its loft deck shows the intent. The seven reads 30.5 degrees, two weaker than the 2017 M2 alongside it, which trades a fraction of carry for a shape that turns over predictably and holds a line into wind. The deck opens on 18 degrees at the three iron and closes at 55. That is a wide spread of loft for a club sold on control.

True Temper XP 95 handles steel. Kuro Kage Silver graphite comes at 80, 70 and 60 grams for stiff, regular and senior respectively, under a Lamkin UTX-P grip at 47 grams. Every set was specified club by club when it was bought, and left handed builds were available. Better players who found the M2 too strong through the scoring irons will recognise what this one is doing.
