Takomo changed direction with the 201 MKII, moving from the original's forged carbon steel to a cast 17-4 stainless head and relabelling it players distance. The 7-iron strengthens a degree to 31, the set stays 4-PW in both hands, and the shafts remain KBS Tour or Tour Lite across regular, stiff and X-stiff.

Casting a players model is a choice with consequences on both sides. It costs some of the softness the forged original had and buys back consistency and a firmer face, which suits a set aimed at distance more than feel. A 201T MKII sits alongside it, multi-material and weaker again at 33 degrees in a players shape. The T suits better players.
