Forged S20C carbon steel is a proper players iron specification and the original 201 has it in a catalogue that leans heavily on casting. The 7-iron is 32 degrees, the set runs 4-PW in both hands, and the shaft choice is the usual KBS Tour or Tour Lite in regular, stiff or X-stiff. Lamkin's Crossline finishes it.

Forged heads from a direct to consumer brand were a novelty when this arrived and they are less so now. The 201 MKII that replaced it went the other way, casting a 17-4 head and calling it players distance at 31 degrees, so the original is the one to find if feel is the priority. Above it the 301 family sits at 34 degrees with traditional lofts and three head shapes.
