About this club

There is no stock shaft on the 949X, because Sub 70 builds every one to order and lets the buyer choose from a list of no-upcharge options. Flexes run from ladies through X-stiff, so the build sheet starts wide and stays that way.

Four lofts cover 15, 16.5, 18 and 21 degrees on a 175cc multi-material head with a 455 Carpenter steel face, and both hosel and weight port are live. That is a complete fitting spec. Buying direct usually means accepting a narrower club, and the 949X is the counter-argument: a turnable hosel, a weight port, a real loft ladder and a shaft chosen rather than inherited. Nothing about it feels like a concession.
