About this club

Ping has been selling Anser blades since the sixties, and the PLD version is that shape rebuilt as a fully milled 303 stainless head with no insert behind the face. Because the neck is a plumber's, the head hangs toe-down a little and suits a slight arc, which is the stroke most golfers actually make. The finish is black. One spec does surprise: Ping fits its Black Graphite shaft here, an unusual material in a milled blade.

Four lengths cover 33 through 36 inches, and both dexterities are built, which isn't a given in a premium milled line. At the handle it's a PP58 Tour M, midsize and pistol shaped. Anyone whose stroke runs straighter than a slight arc should look at the Kushin, the one blade in this family Ping builds face-balanced.
