Ping G430 Irons

For two years the G430 was the default game improvement iron, and the reason was breadth. Cast from 17-4 stainless with a 29 degree 7-iron, it came 4-PW in both hands with a stock shaft list running to eight options, from Alta CB Black and AWT 2.0 through Dynamic Gold, Dynamic Gold 120, KBS Tour, Nippon Modus 3 Tour 105 and 115, Elevate MPH 95 and Alta Quick. Flexes cover light through X-stiff.

Ping replaced it with the G440, which adds a gap wedge to the standard set and keeps the same 29 degree loft. The older model is still worth hunting if the price has moved. An HL version exists for golfers who need ultralight components, built on the same head with a 35 or 45 gram Alta Quick. Nothing about the G430 has aged badly.
