Ben Hogan Equalizer II Merion Commemorative Wedge

The 1 iron Ben Hogan hit into the 72nd green at Merion in 1950 is the most photographed shot in golf, and this is the wedge carrying that image. Hogan licensed the photograph from the USGA and put it onto the head with a process working beneath the surface, so it will not rust, fade or wear off in play. Underneath the artwork sits an Equalizer II, forged from 1025 carbon steel with a CNC milled face.

Three lofts are offered at 52, 56 and 60 degrees, with bounce running 11.7, 12.3 and 11 across them in that order. There is one sole shape and one finish, because the commemorative treatment is the finish. Each one is put together after ordering, right handed, in whichever flex between ladies and X-stiff suits. Buy it as a wedge and it plays like the standard model, which is rather the point of doing it properly.
