About this club

The 8802 is a number Wilson has attached to a heel-shafted blade for a very long time and this is the current one, milled from 304 stainless in a satin finish. Heel shafting means the shaft enters directly into the heel with no hosel shaping at all, which produces strong toe hang. Three lengths, both hands.

Strong hang belongs to a golfer who lets the head release properly through the ball, and it'll resist any attempt to hold the face square through impact. That isn't a flaw. A putter that rotates freely rewards a stroke built on rhythm rather than control, and plenty of very good putters have worked that way. The rest of the Staff Model range is milled 304 stainless in satin too, so only the geometry separates them.
