About this club

The JD is a one-loft driver. Eight degrees, nothing else, on a 450cc head carrying carbon fibre in the crown and heel area with a 6-4 Beta Ti face. That heel panel keeps the face open through impact, so a fade is the default shape unless you work against it.

Stock shafts are Project X's Denali Blue 60 and Denali Black 60, in stiff or X-stiff, and the build is right-handed. Nothing on that list is casual. A wrench still reaches the hosel and the sole weight, which counts for more here than it would on a forgiving head, because 8 degrees leaves nothing spare when a strike goes thin. Players who want this construction with a choice of loft should start at the 859 Pro instead.
