Callaway X Forged Irons

X Forged has been Callaway's tour iron name for a long time, and the 2025 version stays close to type. It's forged from 1020 carbon steel, the 7-iron is 33 degrees, and the only stock shaft is True Temper Dynamic Gold Mid 115 in regular, stiff or X-stiff. Graphite is a custom order rather than a stock choice. Right-handed only, 4-PW.

Callaway now sells this alongside an X Forged Max, which weakens the 7-iron to 31 degrees and adds forgiveness without leaving the forged category. That two degree gap is worth thinking about, because at this end of the range loft is doing more work than any technology in the head. Better players who want a compact forged iron with traditional lofts have a short list, and the X Forged is on it.
