Callaway Quantum Max Irons

Callaway's Quantum range replaced Elyte for 2026, and Max is the model most golfers will start with. It's game improvement rather than super game improvement, a multi-material head over a 17-4 stainless face, with the 7-iron at 29 degrees. KBS Max 90 handles steel, and there are two graphite choices in Mitsubishi's Vanquish PL and Project X Denali Frost Silver. Flexes run senior to X-stiff, both hands, 5-PW.

Two other Quantum models sit either side. The Max OS matches this loft in a larger head with lighter shaft options, and Max Fast strengthens to 28 degrees on an ultralight graphite-only build. Neither choice is really about loft, more about how much club you want to look down at. Max is the middle position, and for a mid-handicap player it's usually the right one.
