Callaway Opus Platinum Wedge

Four finishes, including copper and blue, make the Opus Platinum the most visually distinctive wedge in Callaway's range, alongside the more usual chrome and black. Underneath the colour it is a forged head with a stainless steel face, across 54, 56, 58 and 60 degrees.

Bounce comes at 8, 10 and 12, with Z and S grinds, a tighter menu than the Opus proper offers. Forged wedges tend to be chosen on feel, and the rest of the specification agrees: a Dynamic Gold MID 115 in gunmetal for steel players and a blacked-out Recoil DART HDC 65 for anyone on graphite. Even the shafts are finished to match, which tells you how much of this model's appeal is meant to be sitting in the bag rather than swinging. Right- and left-handed builds are both listed.
