Ben Hogan M50-01 Irons

A player's distance iron that is also a one piece forging is an odd combination, and the M50-01 is exactly that. No hollow body, no insert, no fill, just 1020C carbon steel shaped in a single piece. Strong lofts do the distance work in place of a spring loaded face, so what arrives is the feel of a proper forging with a trajectory out of a category that usually feels lifeless.

At 31 degrees the 7 iron is genuinely strong, and the stock set runs six clubs from 5 to pitching wedge, extendable with a 48 degree gap wedge. Shaft choice is wide by Hogan standards, nine options in all, split between two steel families running regular to X-stiff and a trio of UST Recoil graphite weights starting at senior. It is made for right handers. That gap wedge is also sold on its own, as the same head.
