About this club

At 445cc the GS53 is a compact driver by modern standards, and it is all titanium: a cast body with a forged 6-4 titanium face laser welded into place, no composite anywhere in the head. Sound and feel are traditional because of it. Behind the ball the footprint sets up noticeably smaller than the 460s most brands were selling alongside it.

Its adjustable hosel carries eight settings, worth a degree of loft up or down plus changes to lie and face angle, with the wrench supplied. Lofts are 9 or 10.5, two heads, no more. Clubs are put together to order out of a rack of premium aftermarket shafts, right handed, with flex covering everything from ladies to X-stiff. Anyone wanting this family with a larger face and a carbon crown has the GS53 MAX that came after it.
