Ben Hogan GS53 MAX Driver

Hogan's GS53 MAX arrived as the forgiving development of the GS53, a 460cc head whose face is 22 percent larger than the one it followed. Four pieces go into it, with forged titanium, a heavy tungsten sole weight and a carbon composite crown that frees mass to sit lower and further back in the head. That bigger face matters more than the percentage suggests, because it widens the area still returning useful speed.

Flight Control covers eight hosel settings, moving loft a degree in either direction alongside lie and face angle, and the wrench comes in the box. Heads come at 9 degrees and 10.5. The stock shaft rack is short and deliberate: Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black in stiff or X, then lighter UST Helium NCT profiles in senior and ladies, with nothing in regular between them. Right handed heads only.
