Fully forged from soft 1025 carbon steel, body and face in a single piece, with a 34 degree seven that is the weakest loft in TaylorMade's 2016 iron range by a clear margin. That number is the point of the club. It fits a golfer who cares more about where the ball lands than how far it went.

The run stops at a 47 degree pitching wedge, leaving the scoring end as a separate purchase. Bounce climbs steadily, one degree at the three iron up to nine at the pitching wedge, which keeps the long irons clean off tight turf and the short ones stable from softer lies. Dynamic Gold in stiff and X stiff is the only stock steel, and Tour Velvet grips at 52 grams finish it. Composition came down to the order form. Set against the standard PSi, this one gives up two and a half degrees at the seven and asks for a better strike.
