Ping i230 Irons

i230 was Ping's answer for golfers who want a players iron without a blade's punishment. The head is multi-material over a 431 stainless face, the 7-iron is 33 degrees, and the set runs 4-PW with a gap wedge, eight clubs. Stock shafts include AWT 2.0, Alta CB Black, Dynamic Gold, Dynamic Gold 120, Elevate MPH 95, Nippon Modus 3 Tour 105 and 115, and UST Recoil Dart, senior through X-stiff, in both hands.

Lofts are traditional. At 33 degrees the 7-iron leaves proper gaps for wedges, unlike the i530 sitting four degrees stronger in the same range. The i240 succeeded this model with the same loft in a cast head. Either generation does the job, so buy on price and fit rather than model year.
