Ping G730 Irons

G730 is Ping's maximum forgiveness iron and the 28 degree 7-iron shows it takes distance seriously too. Cast from 17-4 stainless with a thick sole and a wide body, it runs from the 5-iron to a matched gap wedge, seven heads, in either hand. The shaft list is shorter than the rest of the Ping range at three options, covering Dynamic Gold Mid 100, Dynamic Gold Mid 115 and Alta CB Black. Flexes still cover light through X-stiff.

Starting at the 5-iron rather than the 4 is a sensible admission. Golfers who need this much help are usually better served by a hybrid in place of the long irons, and Ping builds plenty of those. The G740 replaced it in 2026 with the same 28 degree loft and a far longer shaft menu. Either way, forgiveness is the point.
