Mizuno JPX 925 Hot Metal HL Irons

HL means the lofts come back rather than the head gets bigger. At 31 degrees the 7-iron is three weaker than the standard Hot Metal, which is a lot of extra height across a 4-PW set. Cast from Chromoly steel like the rest of the Hot Metal group, it takes True Temper's Dynamic Gold 95 VSS in steel or UST Mamiya's Recoil DART ESX in graphite, with flexes from ladies through X-stiff. Right-handed only.

Weak lofts have gone out of fashion, which is a shame for the golfers who need them. Anyone whose iron shots run out rather than land will get more from three degrees of loft than from any face technology.
