Cruiser is Odyssey's word for a counterbalanced build, and it changes two things at once. A seventeen inch grip goes on the butt end and the shaft steps up to 140 grams, which shifts a chunk of the total weight above the hands and slows the whole motion down. Underneath it's the Jailbird head, high MOI and face balanced on a double bend shaft.

Counterbalancing suits golfers whose hands get busy over short putts. Moving mass up the club makes the head feel lighter and the stroke feel more like a swing of the shoulders, which is either exactly what you need or completely wrong for you.
