Ben Hogan Legend Irons

The Legend is Hogan's hollow body player's distance iron, and they built it the hard way. Body and face are both 1025 carbon steel forgings, the face welded on and the score lines CNC milled afterwards, where most brands in this category reach for an exotic face alloy instead. Inside sits a foam fill that quiets a hollow head without changing what the steel underneath is doing.

Loft is where the category shows itself. The 7 iron sits at 30.5 degrees, three and a half stronger than the Icon blade, which is distance bought at the price of a flatter window. Seven clubs make the stock set, 4 to pitching wedge. Shafts come from KBS alone, Tour in steel or TGI graphite at two weights, with regular, stiff and X on the ladder. No left handed set is built. It suits a golfer who wants forged feel without a forged ball flight.
