Callaway Mavrik Irons

The 2022 Mavrik iron is the reissue of Callaway's 2020 game improvement set, a cast stainless head with a face cup and a 27 degree 7-iron, which is strong even by distance-iron standards. The pitch hasn't changed. It's an iron for anyone chasing yardage from a forgiving head and doesn't mind that the 7-iron flies like a 6 used to.

Seven clubs, either hand, light or regular flex in the 2022 build. That flex range narrows the target a little compared with the original: this is a set for moderate swing speeds, and a faster player will want to look at newer Callaway irons with stiff options. For everyone else the Mavrik remains a straightforward, well-proven cavity back with lofts that flatter the yardage on the launch monitor. Know that going in, and gap the wedges accordingly.
