Three lofts, no adjustability, a steel head: the 2022 Mavrik hybrid is the plain version of the club, and there's a lot to be said for that. The 18, 20 and 23 degree heads cover a 3, 4 and 5-hybrid, each on a bonded hosel with the internal weighting fixed. A cast body flexes behind a 455 Carpenter steel face, so ball speed is not where this club gives anything up.

All three lofts come in either hand, and it's a fitting-free purchase in the best sense. Pick the loft that fills the gap above your longest iron, and the only decision left is flex. For a golfer who finds adjustable sleeves and swappable weights more distraction than help, this is the Callaway hybrid to shortlist, and the women's Mavrik MAX hybrid runs the same idea in a lighter build.
